Who We Are

A Global Platform for Sustainable Development

The Sustainable Development Council (SDC) is a global platform dedicated to promoting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals through youth leadership, research, education, and international collaboration.

With Special Consultative Status with the United Nations ECOSOC since 2021, SDC works closely with governments, academic institutions, civil society, and global partners to advance sustainable development and human rights initiatives across regions.

Founded in 2019, SDC has grown from a student-led initiative into a recognized international organization operating in over 30 countries, convening multi-stakeholder coalitions that translate the 17 Global Goals into local action.

Recognized with Special Consultative Status by the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) from 2021.

2019

SDC Founded

Sustainable Development Council established as a youth-led initiative to promote the UN SDGs through education and grassroots action.

2021

UN ECOSOC Status

SDC granted Special Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council, marking a milestone in global recognition.

2022

Global Expansion

SDC expanded operations to 20+ countries, launching regional chapters and partnerships with governments and academic institutions.

2023

Youth Leadership Programs

Launched flagship youth accelerator programs, training over 3,000 young leaders across Southeast Asia, Africa, and Latin America.

2024

Policy Impact

SDC policy recommendations adopted by 3 member states. Convened the Asia-Pacific SDG Forum with 14 national delegations.

2025

Scaling Impact

150+ partner organizations, 50+ active programs, and growing. SDC continues to bridge the gap between global goals and local action.
